Another Successful Coastal Cleanup at Slaughter Beach

Date Posted: Monday, September 23rd, 2024

This year over 35 volunteers, participated in September’s Coastal Cleanup. Additionally many residents helped by picking trash in the area they live. Close to 130  pounds of trash and debris, were removed, preventing it from washing back out into the bay. The most unusual items found this year were not all that unusual, but it was a bird feeder. Slaughter Beach has been participating in the annual Coast Cleanup for over 20 years and the amount of trash follows a declining trend of the amount being picked up.

Remember when enjoying the beach please leave nothing behind but your foot prints.
