If you look close to the shoreline you will notice Diamondback Terrapin’s heads sticking out of the water, or walking on the beach come across a nesting one.  These are females who are searching for the perfect nesting spot on the beach to lay their eggs.  Most of the Diamondbacks will be coming out of the Bay to nest.  From time to time some will leave the marsh looking for sandy areas to lay their eggs.  If you see one crossing the road please move her to the side of the road they were heading.
